When Light Returns (All sheet music from piano album)

This music grew out of my time living in New York, during years of early morning commutes between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Those subway rides were often stressful - crowded, unpredictable, and filled with constant motion.

Writing became a way of finding stillness within that movement. What began as small sketches gradually became a collection of quiet, reflective pieces shaped by a search for calm, light, and presence.

Some ideas date back more than twenty years. Hannestad is inspired by my hometown in Norway, while Hvaler reflects the place where I spend summers with my family. Sarah’s Theme was originally written for string quartet, for my wife Sarah, as she walked down the aisle at our wedding.
